Melbourne School of Engineering Department of Infrastructure Engineering

Welcome to the Department of Infrastructure Engineering

Civil, Environmental and Geomatic Engineering

Launched January 1, 2011, the Department of Infrastructure Engineering is the new home for the disciplines of civil engineering, environmental engineering and geomatics. On this site you will find staff contacts and information on courses, research and consulting for these disciplines which were formerly housed in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Department of Geomatics.

Our new Head of Department as of January 2012 is Prof. Abbas Rajabifard.

Our focus is to solve infrastructure problems in a sustainable way. The Department of Infrastructure Engineering works with industry and community partners to answer challenges including greenhouse gas emissions, water scarcity, and infrastructure for a growing population.

Combining civil engineering, environmental engineering and geomatics in one department creates a broad scope for our research and engineering education. Our researchers and graduates will contribute to the creation of sustainable infrastructure, delivering valuable benefits to the community, economy and environment.
