If you want to become a civil, environmental or geomatic engineer (surveyor), your engineering studies at Melbourne start with an 'Engineering Systems' major in the Bachelor of Science, Environments or Commerce. 'Engineering Systems' majors cover engineering fundamentals and introduce you to your chosen field of engineering.
In the Department of Infrastructure Engineering we teach the Civil Systems, Geomatics and Physical Systems majors. Students who complete these majors can progress to professionally accredited masters degrees in these fields:
- Civil Engineering
- Environmental Engineering
- Geomatics
- Spatial Information Science
- Structural Engineering.
The journey from school-leaver to fully-qualified engineer will take you five years: three years to earn your bachelors degree and two years for your Master of Engineering.
